On April 26, 1986 Chernobyl nuclear power station had a major accident, which turned to be one of the most horrible disasters mankind ever faced. Chernobyl is situated in Ukraine 15 km from Belarusian border. 70% of radioactive dust accumulated in Belarus, 23% of its territory and 22% of agricultural grounds were contaminated, every 5th Belarusian was irradiated. And as a result, there was the unprecedented increase of oncological diseases.


Oncological diseases are one of the main causes of mortality in Belarus according to data of 2010. Minister of public health of Belarus declared that the number of oncological diseases will grow in Belarus in the nearest future.


Every year about 230 Belarusian families get to know that their child is diagnosed with cancer, which turns their lives upside-down and requires all the force, hope, belief and love they have to fight and win.
