5. Agreements on the increased consumption of electricity and water, higher sewerage discharge with Borovlyany local authorities;
6. Preparation of the specified mobile house design, getting appropriate certificates for its manufacture;
7. Communications (cables and pipes) laying into ground, electrical works;
8. Mobile houses installation;
9. Landscaping and site improvement works (paths, pavements, alleys, trees, flower beds, benches).

The price of one fully equipped house, including furniture and kitchen devices is 35 000 EUR at the moment.

It is possible to install 20 mobile houses on the territory of the Centre, it means 40 more beds for children who need to get their treatment.
In addition, there are communications, landscaping and site improvement works (pavements, benches, play grounds) for 150 000 USD.

Once this project is realized the mobile houses will be donated to the Ministry of Health of Belarus.

That is why we searched and found a perfect solution – 20 small mobile houses (each house is for two patients accompanied by a parent) to install on the territory of the Centre.
Supplier of units is the Belarusian company DOMEX. They produce houses that don’t need foundation works, a unit stands on special metal supports. It takes one day to install such a house at the site.  And as they are mobile, the houses can be easily moved or removed. In addition according to Belarusian legislation it’s much easier and cheaper to do the paperwork and receive all the approvals for mobile units.
DOMEX created a new model for this project.
Each house is approximately 25 sq.m.
With common entrance and kitchen,

2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (one for each patient and his/her parent).
The house has a 15 cm thick wall (separation walls are filled in with eco wool) and is heated. It makes it suitable for all-year-round use.

LET’S HELP SURVIVE CHILDREN SUFFERING FROM CANCER!

State Research and Practical Centre of children oncology and hematology of the Ministry of Health of Belarus was established in October 1997 in Borovliany (7km from Minsk) as a result of cooperation of Belarusian and Austrian governments.

It was essential for Belarus as after the Chernobyl disaster in 1986 the number of children suffering from oncological and hematological illnesses has grown dramatically – 300-350 cases per year.

Fifteen years ago there were only 30 beds in the in-patient department. Today it is the third biggest Children Oncology Clinic in the world with 200 beds, which is a lot, but not enough to provide treatment to all the children who need it. Some of them are forced to be outpatients. The State does not provide families of outpatients coming from another city with place to stay during treatment nor with daily transportation. Most of the families have no means to arrange that on their own, so it leads to emotional and financial distress. The equipment and the personnel of the Centre are sufficient to increase the number of patients.However currently there is no more space in the Centre to place additional beds. We are building 20 small houses at the Centre to create 40 additional places and help more children get treatment from cancer in time.
